I did get the purple loom

I got the purple loom that Wal-Mart sells and I like it too. You don't knit in the round with it like you do the round looms, you knit back and forth so you can end up making pretty large project with it too-like wraps or even afghans if you make enough panels and put them together.

I plan to experiment more and someday get some of the other Knifty Knitter stuff-after I get my dental work done but that's for another blog, not this one.

I will have pictures of a wrap I'm making on the big yellow round loom as soon as I can finish the last few rows and take it off so look here in the near future.

I like it

After knitting on the loom for most of the day (It's Christmas, what else is there to do?) I can say I really like it.

I will admit it is limited in the stitches you use but I don't think it's as limited in what you can make with it, if you put your imagination to work. Now, don't get me wrong, I will still love to knit with needles but my wrists and hands have taken to bothering me a lot so when I want to make something and my hands won't let me knit with needles I'll still have my looms. I intend to get the rectangular one and the other round ones-they have an I-cord knitter too.

Next is to find links online for this budding craft.

Knifty Knitters

You'll have some knitters who turn their noses up at them and others who love them-it's the same with anything and there's nothing wrong with that, I just thought I'd chronicle my adventures with the new one I just got for Christmas.

I actually like it. When I want to do something mindless in front of the tv it's perfect-wrap and work off the loops. The only thing you have to watch out for is skipping pegs in your trip around working them off.

With my imagination, I'm sure I can come up with a lot of things other people didn't think you could do on one of these things and that's why I created this blog-to talk about my efforts, both good and bad.

Right now I'm simply trying it out by using some JoAnn's Rainbow Boucle and the big yellow knitter. I'm knitting back and forth instead of around and around and it should create a nice, lacy wrap. For something more substantial I would recomment using two strands together to avoid the lacy look but if you want a nice lacy look without skipping pegs then one strand of worsted should do that.

Anyway, pics and other blogging about this will come later, after I've had a chance to work with it a little more since I've only been using it for maybe an hour.
